Metris has raised a $5M seed round to build the data layer for the physical world of energy. PT1 co-led the round alongside Octopus Ventures, AENU and Blackfinch, with participation from Plug and Play and Love Ventures. The raise brings Metris' total funding to date to $7.5M.

AI has already transformed the digital world. Metris is building the infrastructure it needs to transform the physical one, starting with energy.

The problem it tackles is almost absurd once you look at it. Energy transactions worldwide run to roughly $5 trillion a year, yet most power producers still manage their portfolios on spreadsheets, with data scattered across inverters, meters, SCADA systems (the industrial software that runs the physical hardware) and finance tools that don't talk to each other. You can't trade or automate what you can't even see. Metris pulls all of it into one clean, live record of every asset, a single source of truth that humans and AI agents can finally act on.

The company launched by solving one painful, unglamorous problem for solar portfolios: reconciling data from all those disconnected systems into one reliable record. That focus has since grown into a broader ambition to become the unified data layer for the entire energy sector. Alongside this round, Metris is launching Metria AI, an interface that carries out complex operational tasks that teams used to grind through by hand.

The traction speaks for itself. Metris now manages more than 10,000 solar plants and 500MW of capacity for some of the largest power producers in the world, with revenue up eightfold year on year. This round will fund the platform's agentic capabilities, extend it beyond solar into wind and combined heat and power (CHP) systems, and support expansion across Europe, with Germany as an early focus and several customers already onboarded.

Huge congratulations to Natasha Jones and the whole Metris team. We're proud to back you.
