Burhan was the first employee at Gridizen, a UK PropTech company, where he was responsible for technology and product. During his time there, he designed, architected, and launched the UK’s first ESG reporting tool for the social housing sector. In addition, Burhan was the co-founder and CTO of Mentyoo, an EdTech startup focused on bringing mentoring to underrepresented communities.

Burhan holds a first-class Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College London, where he specialized in climate modeling. He leads the development of PT1’s internal technology stack (”SIA”) and AI initiatives.

Since 2022, Burhan has been a member of the PT1 investment team. Today, he serves as Managing Director UK, leading all of PT1’s activities in the UK market. At PT1, Burhan leads the firm’s work on AI & Robotics in the Built World as Chapter Head for the topic.

In his spare time, Burhan enjoys climbing, cooking (currently working his way through the Noma Guide to Fermentation), tabletop gaming (Pathfinder), and blogging at bp.simple.ink.

Simran is an Investment Associate at PT1, based in the London office. She works across the full investment lifecycle, sourcing and evaluating opportunities, executing transactions, and supporting portfolio companies post-investment.

Prior to joining PT1, Simran was an early employee at DoorFeed, a UK-based PropTech startup, wearing multiple hats across product, operations, finance and strategy. Her role included leading the company's first new country launch, working on the first bolt-on acquisition, and co-ordinating a cross functional team towards a series of major product launches.

Before this, Simran was an Associate in the Investment Banking Division at J.P. Morgan, working on M&A and Capital Markets transactions for Industrials companies. Notable transactions included advising on HomeServe's sale to Brookfield Infrastructure Partners and FirstGroup's divestiture of First Student and First Transit to EQT Infrastructure.

Simran holds an Economics degree from the University of Cambridge.

Outside of work, Simran enjoys being active; through weekly spin classes, amateur tennis and padel tournaments, and - when lucky - a race down the ski slopes. She is also a keen traveller and has explored many parts of the world solo.
